Alison and I had a successful garage sale last Saturday!!
Lots of people brought stuff for us to sell and still have a bunch of stuff, so we decided might as well have another one next Saturday! So don't worry it isn't too late to bring stuff to sell. My goal that I thought we may get was at least $150, but with prayers and help from neighbors and friends we raised over $245!!
Pictures below!

We had a lot of fun doing this and can't wait to do again this week! Thanks everyone for making this first garage sale possible!!
Update:
You know those times when you just think it's impossible to be ready or have what you want on time at the right time?!
These past two weeks God has really been showing me to stay strong and don't worry, because He will do it all! I have gotten about $400 more into my trip plus half of what we made at the garage sale! Which gives sets me at about $2,080. Only need about $1000 more to go, plus I have been told by some more people who are going to be giving as well! This has helped me realize so much and never give up on the things God has planned for you!
It's all in my head:
I've come to realize yesterday that I am ACTUALLY going to be gone for FIVE weeks! It made me think of everyone I will miss and how I am going to really have to stay strong and busy focusing on the work God has for me! I know at times it will be tiring, challenging, and stressful, but I will just need to keep saying this is for God, not myself! I want to be like Christ and travel places like Him just to tell the good news! This is such a great opportunity and I know I've been saying that a lot, but I tell all my friends they just need to experience something like this so powerful at least once in their life! Even if you heard it's great, you can't even describe it, you just have to see for yourself! When I see commercials on TV about children and countries in need it reminds me of my past and to come missions trips. Because even though you see the terrible condition people are in on TV, it is way different in person. You can't even think of the commercial, your heart just stops for a second and that's when you realize the need! I wish I could somehow get every student who is a believer to reach out at least for 2 weeks during the year overseas or even just at a camp! Someday, I guess.
Pictures of what I have ready to be packed...so far!!
This is "the box" which is the only thing besides a backpack that I get to fit everything for 5 weeks in! This will be exciting of how I will get everything to fit! Don't worry, I won't leave you out. I will give you details on how it all works out!

This is what I have so far to put in my box. Clothes, shoes, bedding, zip-lock bags full of bug spray, first aid kit, and more, and of course can't forget toilet paper (oh joy!)
Coming up:
In my next post, which will be my last one before I leave for Training camp. I will give complete details on my the dates and schedule for the trip! That way you will know for sure when I will be back home and what days we will be were! Thanks everyone for your prayers and support!!
Love,
Kristi
Cool stuff. Now I know I can follow you in that foreign country of Ireland. Could use one of the garage sale picts for the newsletter.
ReplyDeleteKristi, I really like your blog and the pics. What a great thing! It will be such a blessing to keep up with what God is doing in your life now and after you leave. I'm so proud of you for taking this step in pleasing and following the Lord.
